The School Department outlined significant capital funding requests, led by a $6.8 million renovation of Memorial Stadium and $950,000 for track reconstruction. Officials presented a $5.2 million funding request toward a $6 million aeration upgrade project at the town's wastewater treatment plant. The request also covers sewer studies and system monitoring improvements critical to maintaining regulatory compliance and system capacity. If approved by Town Meeting, this will be one of the municipality's largest utility capital investments of the year.

The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to recommend a $1,000,000 appropriation from its reserves to preserve nearly 29 acres at the former Hawthorne Country Club. In partnership with the Buzzards Bay Coalition, the project facilitates replacing a previously approved 147-unit development with a lower-density 65-unit senior community while protecting the local aquifer. Voters will make the final determination on the funding at the October Town Meeting.
